Home / Service Areas / Altadena
Altadena sits right against the foothills, and that means dust. Homes here collect fine grit on sills, blinds and ceiling fans faster than anywhere else we cover, and after wind events it gets worse. Our checklist puts extra time on horizontal surfaces for that reason.

Neighborhoods we serve
Foothill dust is the recurring theme in Altadena. We recommend a deeper first clean, then a lighter recurring schedule — sills, blinds, vents and fan blades every visit rather than occasionally.
What Altadena homes actually need
Altadena sits against the San Gabriels on larger lots than the city below, and both of those facts change what a clean has to cover.
Much of Altadena was built in the first half of the last century: Craftsman and Spanish homes with original woodwork, built-ins and single-pane windows. Wood finishes here are often unsealed, so they are cleaned dry or barely damp rather than with a general-purpose spray. Tell us at booking if the woodwork is original and the crew will treat it that way by default.
Larger lots, mature trees and an open slope above mean more dust on sills, blinds and glass, and more grit carried in from paths and driveways than a flat-city house of the same size. Wood-burning stoves and fireplaces add fine ash around hearths and on nearby shelves, which is its own pass rather than part of a general dusting.
Where a house is coming out of construction, an ordinary clean is not the right tool: fine drywall and sanding dust settles again for days and has to be taken off in stages, top down, with filtered vacuums. That is our post-construction service, priced separately from a standard clean, and we will say plainly which of the two your home needs.
Whichever it is, the total is shown before you book, and the checklist is signed off room by room.
Getting in
Lots here are larger than in the city below and most houses have their own driveway, so the crew rarely needs the street. Where a renovation is under way and the drive is full of a contractor’s vehicles, tell us at booking and we plan the arrival around it.
A lockbox, a keypad, a side gate left unlatched or a neighbour with a key all work. Put the instructions in the booking notes — the crew reads them on the phone before setting off, and calls when they arrive.
Weekly, every two weeks or monthly, with the same crew wherever the schedule allows — they learn the house, and the visit gets shorter without getting thinner. Recurring visits continue until you stop them, with no fee and no minimum number of visits.
